I don't think so. First room is a problem and torque is a real issue. The reason you want the AWD for real power in a diesel car is the torque steer. If it was a RWD it won't be such a problem.

so could i rearrange the engine so it was in straight like cummins engine and get a custom driveshaft and put a live axle out back. clean up all the FWD Crap out front and run like that. any way here are transmiisions i found on Ebay

eBay Motors: TRANSMISSION AUDI A4 PASSAT 98 99 00 01 02 - 05 MANUAL (item 170236542106 end time Jul-15-08 15:33:15 PDT)

eBay Motors: TRANSMISSION AUDI A4 PASSAT 98 99 00 01 02 MANUAL (item 150267495328 end time Jul-15-08 15:33:18 PDT)

i dont know if the first 2 will fit my model but the last one the interior of the audi looks the same as my Passat so i know its the same model accept for the Audi badges

eBay Motors: 2001 AUDI S4 ENGINE TRANSMISSION TAKE OUT COMPLETE (item 170237481300 end time Jul-15-08 17:30:00 PDT)

I would do some more looking around. because your car is newer than that this may not work. I don't know the make numbers of Audi but your Passat is an MK5 I believe. The audi will have to match that or it wouldn't work.

What I'm saying is that if the Audi is also an MK5 it should be direct bolt on. I don't know for sure but someone around likely does.

Do some poking around on TDICLUB and see what you can find out. Those guys tend to be a little less friendly bu there is some good info over there.

So, just so we are clear, you want to take your car and remove the transmission add in a QWD transmission from a wrecked Audi A4 or equal and go nuts with the TDI motor modifications.

Your bench mark will be high 13's (I think) with all 4 wheels turning and around 300 foot pounds and 25 psi boost. Total cost of modification should be expected to run $15k if you do the work yourself.

You will want to get a German translation book or program as well since all the real good factory stuff doesn't even make it this side of the pond.

Enjoy.

this excaltly what i want to do. want to make close to what the guy in the Jetta in Diesel power was power wise. i like to be different and this is. by the way will 2.5 inch exuast be okay for a stock TDI. gonna get a exuast kit from JEGS and weld me a straight pipe exuast. tired of the stocker

2.5" will work without issue and if properly protected you can stuff a 3" under there as well but this usually involves raising the suspension a little and skid plates.

Cheers.
