I am at 60K miles on a VW dealership replacement timing belt(120,000 on clock)am I on borrowed time? Was hoping replacement belts were better than original belt???

The old belts where teflon and didnt last as long the newer kevlar belts go for 10years or 100k thats what i recommend them at.

Also check the condition visually its easy to do and if its starting to crack or fray regardless of miles id replace it.

That belt is the old style. I wouldn't trust it past 60K, 40 if it's an automatic trans. Unless you just enjoy pulling the cylinder head

Replaced T-belt,serp belt, idlers and water pump, bolts etc.....
Funny thing is the T-Belt looked pretty good (no cracks etc). I do feel much better knowing that I`ll be safe for a while. Should be well over 200k by then.
