pull in low range your clutch will not hold the high side, as for gear choice your also going to be limited on your choices. what size tire are your running?

As for the tcase holding I launch in 4th ( 1 to 1) in low range every hook in my puller. t case is oem out of a newer truck. There is a video in my sig if you like

The right gear makes all of the difference. I pulled this past weekend at 3 different pulls. I have a common rail cummins making around 800hp. I always run 4low. I tried 3rd gear and just hit my rev limiter all the way down the track. Never loaded the motor or blew any smoke. 4th gear was better. I carried 3000rpms but fell under the charger at 2600 toward the end of the track. I am running a nv4500 trans

but the OP only has a single disk clutch running to big of a gear will burn that clutch up in one pass. We need to know what rear gears the truck has and the tire size before a good gear choice can be posted.

ok good to know on the clutch. is to big of a gear like a 3:73 or? it has 4:10 gears, and 265/ 75 R 16 tires. now the bad news, I was out on the chalk roads after work screwing off and found out i do not have 4 low. so i think the pull is on hold til i get that fixed. (dam electric 4wd shift BS )
