i would like to have a ported head myself. im still running the stock gasket.

i kinda would like too know for sure how much hp a ported stock head would give me. i have heard guys make big claims. i know it depends on who does it.

claims are just that. an engine is just a pump. so for a turbo engine like we have the more she can flow the better, because we are filling up the intake with forced air. in an NA engine there is a grey area. because if you go to big, you get noticable dead spots before the power comes on. meaning smaller heads can be a way better choice in a given application. you need to be quite intuitive to build an engine that suits your needs. (kinda got off subject). HP #'s will very alot with a ported head. not just because of how much it flows but the entire engines mathematics and when everything starts doing its thing.

yeah i know what you mean. the thing that gets me is i have beat several trucks with a ported head the last 2 years. i know they are other factors too but it makes me wonder.

My trucks getting a bit of goodies... fully ported head, turbo are the two big game changers....
