yep the water pump was on...timing was too far we can see it on the pistons

I don't think timing was the cause of this ... I've been higher than that all year with some street miles ( under 50) as well

you been over 28* all year on stock pistons?

yes stock pistons 145* injector ... been at 30* all year. I know I'm out of the bowl but it likes to run there

from the looks of the pistons my actual timing was more then 30* cause i was a pretty good ways outside the bowl....any idea how much .050" would effect the timing?

i'm at 28* and thinkin of going to 30-32* just for the crunchy rattle effect

I am not sure about this, but you may want to check into your number one cyl. When I machine my blocks for race or pull I over bore one and six and hone with a deck plate to simulate the clamping effect of the head. The over bore is only if you don't have a data logger to control and monitor the temperatures with the use of a water injection.
