Default interested about pulling but not sure where to start

Okay so what are basic thing to start with when building a pull truck? And what purpose do the upgrades serve like I've heard of driveshaft loops but I guess I'm not sure what everything is for, I bet after someone tells me ill have a doh! Moment not realizing before the purpose of everything.

Driveshaft loops- to keep the shaft/u-joints from flying out from under the truck
Trans/scatter blanket- to keep flywheel clutch parts from flying out.
air/fuel shut-off- to keep the truck from running away w/o sled...
i think thats the main ones other than ur noggin condom.. (helmet)

Is it not really practical to have a daily driver double as a puller?

if u want it to have any reliabilty at all and pull it u need a plate loaded dual disc, billet inputs outputs and hardened axle shafts..

Had a feeling this would get expensive very fast. Doesn't seem practical on a college student budget right now

its really not, it eats tons of time and you should also be ready to break some parts.

Also don't forget traction bars to prevent axel wrap, bump stops, and a weight bracket
