Have you thought about moving up to 4th gear? Sounds like you should have enough power to run the taller gear. Just a thought, if you can, it should get you a fair amount of more speed. If you try the taller gear, let us know how it works for you

well 4th low with my current gearing is 41 mph wheel speed at 4200 rpm ... that is way too big of a gear. 4th low is the ideal gear to use because it is the strongest gear in the tcase and the trans but I will have to regear the rear to run it.

I have tried 2nd high rang before and it did not work to well, its 37mph at 4200 rpm. when I tried to launch I could only turn 3000 which works out to about 30 mph wheel of wheel speed, ended up breaking my tcase output shaft.

my best choice of gearing now is 3rd low, bout 25mph of wheel speed and I can carry 4200 down the track. What I need is to hook to the track better, as soon as the sled drops I start to spin.

Cool, I was just curious, but it sounds like you have been working on your system for a while. Good luck with getting it to bite better

Dave do you have 3.55 or 4.10 now, i cant remember.

for the record i think your truck would pull really well if you ran 2nd high, the closer you can run to that point of snuffing the charger the more tq you are making. a lot of 5spd guys run 2nd high and do well with it, and since you have the bigger t-case and drive shafts now i think you will be safe to run it. i've run as high as 4600 down the track and it pulls so much better when i can get it down under 4k just a few hundred rpm above the point where i fall off my charger. watch my videos and you will see when it pulls down near the end of the track thats when its making the most torque. try 2nd high again i think you will like it, and i dont think you should have a problem keeping that charger lit with the power you have now.

3.54's are what I have now. Tj I would almost bet I have watche your pulling videos more than you have

My main problem with 2nd high is with my 33" tires my wheel speed would be 30 mph at 3000rpm and I know I can not hold that for long. were in the process of tweeking some things now to see if I can get her to hook better. I will try 2nd high again before the season is over.
