south bend 3600 DD street comp?
Hey guys, I've been around a pulling track almost all of my life but I'm gonna try my hand at it for the first time this year. I've got everything I need except for a clutch. I'm looking at a south bend 3600 DD street comp 12 ceramic button. Is this a good enough clutch for a couple hooks a year? My truck is a daily driver so I not only want a clutch that holds on the track but is also still very streetable. Anyone running the 3600? Any input will be appreciated...thanks guys
Thanks for your help. Did you run the sprung or rigid setup? Also, how many hooks did you put on the 3850 and what class? I'm just wanting to run a few local pulls in the street classes
i have the street dual disc 3250. in my 02 24valve and i love it. didnt have to replace the hydros and the pedel is softer then stock. its a little grabby. but its a great clutch i sled pull with mine and never spun it. not sure about the clutch your talking about, mine was 1100$ and its the best investment ive made to the truck
I run a 3600 hub sprung 12 button clutch. I have over 30 hooks boosted launches in 4th gear to it. Ended up with 28 wins.
I do a lot of heavy towing and it has been a good clutch I have a little over 70,000 on it.
I know a guy that is/was running a 2001 P-pumped 24 valve that has dynoed 1000 hp and he run a 3600 for a year sled pulling.

Thats somewhat interesting but the original poster was asking about a Southbend clutch. Lets stay on topic and limit discussion to Southbend.
Wow! 1000hp for a year pulling? That's impressive! I'm torn between the 3850 and 3600...my cousin told me that the rigid would be better for pulling. What's the difference in sprung and rigid? Is the rigid streetable?
