Depending on the fuel you're plannin to push, you can even do something like S480 with a 2.6 machined cover. Get a little more air and still tech 2.6 class.

I dont understand why guys run those big charges with a 2.6 cover. Most places they have a rule saying compressor must protrude into the inducer. So you would have to have the compressor wheel clipped and that doesnt help efficiency of the turbo and would run better with a smaller turbo.

In the PSD world it's a much better option than runnin in a 2.8 or 3.0 class. We don't have the RPM to compete there usually. A few trucks do, but you wouldn't wanna see their credit card statements.

And, it's a "custom" cover and wheel for the most part. And no fool built it. We just can't get enough air out of a 66 or smaller to do much of anything.

Talk to a lot of customturbo places. St Joseph diesel I believe is a sponsor on here and can help you out as well. Borg Warner turbos are nice frames to start with and billet holsetbwheels are good too. Nothing off the shelf will be perfect.

here is the NADM turbo rule for the 2.6 class 2010

Turbocharger: The vehicle is limited to a single turbocharger; the inducer bore on the compressor housing may be 2.6”. The inlet will be measured using a 2.65-inch plug or internal calipers. Bushing from any larger turbo size down to a 2.6 turbo is PROHIBITED. A stock map width enhancement (MWE) groove is allowed. No MWE groove will be allowed that has a width greater than 1/4 inch. All provisions allowing air to the wheel other than via the bore and the MWE groove are prohibited. 6.4 liter Powerstroke engines may utilize the factory twin-turbo configuration.
