Default gears for towing

what would be a good set of gears to run for towing and to control egts i have 354 gears now and 500hp just looking to be able to get more low end tq and less turbo lag towing for cooler egts but still keep decent milage empty

I think Dodge had a 4.11:1 option for towing with the cummins engine, though 3.73s might help towing without hurting as much when empty.

id like to still be able to run 80 when im empty and i dont think 410 will let me with 35s

you have to decide do you want best of tow, or best of highway! i think look at other ways for egts

well i do more driving empty with it but the truck usually only gets driving for towing or hualing purposes but i do more hiyway than anything i may just do watermeth

Sounds good, probably simpler and cheaper than swapping gears

Just get the 4.10's and a gear vendors overdrive and have the best of everything, as long as money is not an object

i tow with 373s on 35s all the time at around 500hp and it works great and i get over 18mpg empty and 12mpg loaded
