sound about right if I hook up to something that my brother in law's ford was towing I have to change the wiring in the trailer plug to get it to work.

So if I hook the blue wire coming from the controller to the black at the plug (on the truck) it should work?

Btw, when i have the plug (under dash) hooked up why doesn't the controller come on? Any common probs that will hopefully be the solution?

Controller is called a PoD

if I remember right the constant hot wire and the brake signal wire have to be switched.becouse the brake would just lock when pluged in.

Ok, i've got it kinda narrowed down a bit. I have the controller wired to the harness that clips under the dash, and have a blue wire running from the controller to the plug in the back. I took a wire and grounded it to the hitch on the truck and to the either ground on the plug or the brake power wire (blue) and the green light came on. When i hit the brakes the light stays green. Would the trailer have to be grounded and the blue wire hooked up to trailer for the the controller to send out a signal?

I know im confusing

For some reason it wont work unless both the blue and black wires are hooked together at the plug on the truck. I just figured i give it a shot and now it works. It wont work with just one.
