I know I am new to this site, but I cannot say enough good about the MaxBrake. I have it on two trucks and my RV which has air brakes. You simply would not believe how much better the MaxBrake is over the Prodigy controllers that we have used.

It is stunning.

Yeah, it looks like a good controller, but at $350? A little steep unless all you do is tote a trailer. I'm shooting for a P3 which is way above what I really need for the moderate amount of towing I do, but tired of the time delay models. And it can be had for $120. The MaxBrake I think would be more for the hotshotters and guys that almost always have a trailer behind them.

That is what I thought until I got one. I have spent far more than that.....let me rephrase that. I have wasted far more than that on other items that didn't wow me.

I honestly think it helped my mileage when I tow my race car trailer with my Ford F350. I had someone tell me that he felt the momentum controllers were tapping his trailer brakes when the truck would get on a road that pitched badly. My truck will do that on some of the interstates around here. It is even worse on my RV.

I have made 4 trips with and without the MaxBrake. Two to the East coast with my truck and two to California with my RV both pulling a 12,000 lb race car trailer. I cannot say for certain that the MaxBrake was the improvement on mileage, but it was better in both cases. Not enough evidence to say for certain. I can say for certain, it put a smile on my face every time I had a sudden stop due to so fool pulling out or jumping in front of me. It is unbelievable how much smoother the rig shuts down with this controller.

Another thing that I think it pays for itself is reducing the excess wear on either your tow rig's brakes or the trailer brakes because it adjusts the brakes so near perfectly no matter the load. Once it is calibrated I haven't had to touch the gain.

This is extremely important on my RV. The RV is so big and the trailer is so far back that it is near impossible to get the setting just right because it is harder to "feel" the trailer and you cannot hear it when it locks up the brakes sometimes if you get it too much.

Like I said before. It is unbelievable until you have one.
