Default Extra Springs

Anyone have advise on what to do about adding extra springs. Trying to decide if I should have extra added to the primary pack or secondary pack.

I carry a heavy camper and have broken the air bag upper mounts so I am thinking of stronger and more springs in the secondary pack. That way the ride would not be affected when unloaded. It is already pretty stiff unloaded and I don't want to make it worse.

'01 Dodge 3500 which Dodge decided not to put on the extra secondary that they did put on in the first half of the year models.

I am a new member but been lurking for awhile.

With the kind of weight you must be haulin to have broken that air bag support I think I would talk to one of these speacialty custom spring companies and see about whole new leaf packs. Usually $140-200 per side to have custom packs built for your application. That would be the safest route to go. These add a leaf kit's your talkin about are also gonna raise the ride height of your truck and in your case you need it as low as possible since your so top heavy already.

By the way, welcome to the site and glad you decided to jump in.

welcome to the site!!! that must be one hell of a camper to have broken those mounts twice. i think bubba's on the right track with this one as the only way i can see increasing payload and managing ride quality is a custom spring pack. probably going to have to be made up of several thinner leaves.

OK, been talking to Betts Spring, they want $800 just for the labor to work on the primary spring pack. I think I need to talk to someone else. Anyone have experiance with Super Springs?
