Towing with a Pintle Hook???
#11
If it already has the pintle hook I would try it out and see how it does. You can always change it later. Might save some coin to get started.
That seems like a low price on the trailer. Is it in good shape, tires and brakes etc..?
I hope you do well in your venture. Not to sound negative but a lot of transport guys are probably out there now as the RV industry is just about dead these days. But maybe having this trailer is just the ticket to get started with.

every trailer besides gooseneck ones I have I change them to pintle eyes, all my trucks have one, nobody bothers to ask to borrow them anymore cause they dont want to buy a $125 hitch, trust me it stops the conversation right there when you say to bring a pintle hitch, another benefit is they are rated for more tongue weight and more overall weight

this rig has been sitting since thanksgiving, once you get going pm me I'll sell it cheap
too many people out of a job cutting everyones throat to try and make money, we had a good deal going on with a local car dealer hauling cars to auction.... well it got slow for the dealer and then someone came in with a nicer rig and offered to haul 4 cars on his wedge to Detroit from Toledo for $150 and I was taking 3 for $225 I doubt I have to say much more, after insurance/tags/fuel/upkeep I doubt he is making $50 each load..... to hell with it I'll let him make nothing I have other stuff to do but right now there is no money in hauling stuff

The pintle is designed for off road operation and is not considered safe at highway speeds. If this trailer has a factory installed pintle on it I'm sure it's probably a retired tag-a-long construction trailer designed for use behind dump trucks. These trailers will last forever but they are heavy built, really heavy built to pull behind our trucks. Most state DOT's prohibit the use of pintles for over the road trailers.
I know, I hear all of you with pintles callin BULL on me here. We all do things and get away with it everyday that may not be exactly the right way to go. But if your lookin at this for commercial applications do it right and put a ball hitch on this thing.
