Um.........well I don't know how much snow and ice is where you are but in the Rockies where I live we see our share and I have zero complaints on my BFG AT's on ice and mild snow.

I've heard the Coopers wear very quickly too. Also heard that about the Toyo M/T's from my buddy that had them and that they were a bit louder but he's kinda stupid so I dont know how much weight his comments hold.
I've had BFG A/T's and completely hated them. They sucked in rain, mud, sand, gravel, snow, and ice. I slid through so many stop signs it was unreal.... and I was trying to be overly cautious in most cases!
Right now I have ProComp Xtreme A/T's and they are the best tires I've ever had. I cant hear em when I'm cruising down the highway, they've gotten me out of some pretty sticky situations in deep mud and snow. They also have a 40 000 mile tread wear warranty on em. I've easily put over 40 000 miles on em and have tons of tread left. I wont ever buy another tire.

my friends always complain about the BFG A/T during rain and ice. Don't know about snow.
What about real winter tires? It's a huge different- I would never again go without.
Bad side is: It is the third set of tires now- I'm running out of space.
But they changed the law over here: You have to have appropriate winter tires now.
