I haven't ever owned any Coopers Tires but I have heard they don't have a very good tread life

Be sure to look through this tire area here, there is some previous threads with a lot of good info in them.

Ive heard the bfg a/t work good in the snow. but me personally never driven in snow with them

you dont want BFG's on snow and ice, unless you like sliding around uncontrollably and almost killing yourself.......

I have run most tires on the market in the past 10 years, and a snow/mud tire has never been a good option as they always seem to excel in one area but fail in the other. My last set were Hankook M/T's and they were awesome in mud, gravel, dirt of any kind and I got great mileage out of them but they were trecherous on ice and snow....

I have now just tried a set of Toyo open country M/T's (since I used to run the A/T) and I am THRILLED with this tire. My daily routine will see me in everything from hard pack ice, deep snow to mud with tons of trail and gravel roads thrown in and these seem to handle all of it well. They are not cheap but worth every penny in my opinion. They are a tad louder on the hiway than I would like, but a small price to pay....

If you tow a lot I dont think you will love a cooper. The ones I had had some sidewall flex when pulling.

I'll stand by my Hi-Tec Retreads, run them on the durango, the 98 and on the old s-10 beater

Toyo m55 are suppose to be a great tire not sure how well they do in the mud and they're big $$$.
