Lift kit limits

Lift kit limits
I got a 04.5 ram cummins 4x4 and I want 35"tires
Been looking at the top gun kits, cheap and easy...
I dont care if the truck still has a bit of a rake to it but level would be best
Can I put 3" blocks in the bac and 3.5 coil spacers in the front and not worry about trailing arms, shocks etc? What is the limit before I get into replacing shocks and totally screwing up the geometry?

2" is the limit in my book. If you look at most quality kits 3" and up come with shocks for you. I personally would try the front 3" or 3.5" front leveling kit first, then the blocks in the rear if you need them. Replacing the shock does nothing to the geometry either. Shock do nothing to the height of the truck. They just dampen the SHOCK of the pothole or whatever you hit going down the road.

Yeah, I know the shock dont effect the lift but it you lift too high your suspension may extend beyond the maximum length of the shock and pull it apart. Been there, done that...not pretty.
So do you think I can go 3" or 3.5" without over extending my stock shocks?
Will 3" in the front make the truck squat in the back?

Lift Kit Limits
I figured it was the same in parts wise. but what im wondering is how high i can life it before i have to really modify a lot of things. I had an idea to put an International Bus rear end under it so that i would have the heavier rear end and then buy front adapters for the front so that i could run the 22.5 all the way around it. I just dont know how high i would have to lift it to make it all work, and even if i didn't put that under there i wanted to put like a 6 or 8 inch lift in it.

The other question was whether i could convert over to air brakes. or whether i could fab up a compressor for it or whether it would be way more work than it would be worth when i could probably find a mechanical brakes setup for that rear end off something else
