Default 19.5 tire and wheel info

I'm plannin ahead here for once in my life. My next set a tires is gonna be the 19.5 conversion so for now I'm lookin for info on it. Prices on tires and wheels, where all are the kit's available from, are some better then others. And the trick question here, I'm really pondering makin my single wheel into a dual wheel when I do this since these tires are narrower then regular truck tires I'm runnin now, what's it gonna take to do this.

I think the big name is these guys:

You can also have a look at this site:

Cant really help ya on the dually conversion - I think Chrome Wheel has conversion kits, as well I think JC Whitney has a kit.

to turn a single into a dually? the factory duallys have a different rear axle than the SRW trucks. front axle's the same but use adapters that bolt on. don't know what you'd do for the rear to cover the tires unless you could find a factory DRW box laying around.

doc's got the links preety well covered. i'll add http://www.americanforcewheels.com/. they have a really good reputation for converting to 22.5's and also offer 19.5's too.

Some styrofoam and plaster to make the form with along with some Fiberglass and resin will fix me up an extended quarter panel just fine pretty similar to the new dually fenders out there, if I can't find something on the market. But I know I've seen the panels out there someplace to do this with.

Maybe I just don't get it, but I really see no point to having a 2500 dually... Its not like your payload will increase with the dual rear wheels, at least not "legally". I can understand wanting to go to the 19.5's for the strength, and having tires that wear like iron, but duals? On a 3/4 ton? Makes no sense.

For all you highway haulers, it wouldn't make any sence at all to do this. Most of my haulin is ag related stuff though so I can pretty much get away with anything as far as legalities go. It's not unusual for this 2500 to roll down the road with a 20,000 pound plus trailer behind it. For my personal trailers I tow a 40' stake and platform gooseneck, and a 22ft stock trailer. I'm runnin load range E tires and even they tend to get a little roll to em when I'm loaded.

throw a couple springs under the rear and you got a 1 ton, big deal, the difference between a 2500 and 3500 is just about that. you can just go to a flatbed and sell your bed. you could bolt the dually wheels to a regular axle, they might set out a little farther but not much.

From lookin at truck specs side by side, actually one less leaf spring on each side is the only difference I could find between the 3/4t and 1t single wheel trucks. That is except the price differance of course.

I got way to much money and sweat invested in this truck to start over now. Not to mention that I met my wife in it, taught the kid to drive a stick shift in it and been From Canada to Mexico and Both coast lines sittin behind the wheel of it. It's to much a part of me to think this way. Not to mention that if I bought a new one, I'd still be making these changes and have a hefty truck payment to boot.
