3rd gen lift kit on a 2nd gen ???

will a lift kit from a 3rd gen 2500 dodge fit on a 2nd gen 2500 dodge? if not want is different?

spring size is different, like the diameter, and also some of the 2nd gens had 3" wide leaf springs where now its 2.5" on 3rd gens.
