I always heard it called as a broken or separated belt *shrug*

any tires i've had that happen to ran like they were out of balance, rebalancing usually helps but never had one go because of it.

Wat miyagi said. It's just where the belt comes together when they manufacter the tire. Alot of tires develop it but sometimes it's more noticeable and sometimes you just dont notice it but it's there. You shouldn't have any problem with them......as long as you stop curbing them Who be jealous of my mad run-on sentences lulz.

I asked our tire pros, showed them the pic's and thats what they told me:

These blemishes are considered to be normal and are not dangerous. It's simply a minor void in the splice in the rubber portion of the sidewall, not in the fabric that gives the tire its shape and strength. You can see them at all brands.

Be concerned about bubbles in the sidewall, not indentations.
Bubbles may be indicative of an internal flaw that's leaking air into the tire's internal construction.

PS: Dr - You don't like the GE AT²? I just tought about buying them, because they only run 81€ per tire. Do they wear quick?

.

No - they havent been that great. They are wearing quickly and I normally dont haul or tow anything. The General AT's are ok - but I would not pay a lot of $$ for them.

The Cooper STs I have on my other truck are wearing much better and they are technically a mud tire.

Dont worry about them, about 90% of the light truck tires out there have them, I have sold and installed tires on and off since I was 16 (almost 25 now), put hundreds of them on brand new and used that had those.....Never a problem...
