When you load them down they touch. They rub up and down on each other causing heat which leads to bad things.

I too have run 265's but not bigger...I was happy with the 265...

I have Firestone Transforces on my truck and they have been great. Stay away from Goodyear though. Had Goodyear SRAs and lasted less than 18,000 miles. I like these and need to rotate and balance em again and soon!!!

I have the same 05 dually. I am in the process of buying 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. I see your tires are close without spacers. How much tire hangs out without your 2' spacers in? How much do you think they will be passed the fender wall? I haul 18k trailer for work, so I dont want to screw myself for a work truck trying to go bigger. But really love the look...

I'm putting 285/70-17 on my 06 dually dodge whats the smallest spacer i can run if any?

i got 305/65r17s only needed a 1.5 spacer but got 3s to keep it looking stock

i have on my truck now LT265/75r16 but i need 1/2 spacer. i had LT245/75r16 and didnt need spacer. but i went up a size because of the lift im doing.

BFG just released a 255/80R17 KM2. Lots of room between the tires. They are about 33" tall.
I'll try and post some pics of an 07 Dodge Dually we did some time this week.
