difference between 2 and 3 ply tires

Default difference between 2 and 3 ply tires

anyone have some input on the interco vortrac all terrains? Im thinking those or the pro comp extremes? all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. also, why do the vortracs have only two plys, whereas other all terrains have three?? the vortracs have an E rating too...Can anyone explain the difference? thanks dan

There dimensions would be different and the ply is the durability of the rubber bigger the number harder and thicker the rubber is

2 plys have 2 layers of cords in the sidewalls and 3 ply have 3 , It dosn't really matter you just need to make sure you get the correct load range for your application. It has nothing to do with dimensions or thickness of the rubber.

I agree with the above that tire ply refers to the numbers of layers of rubber materials used to make the tire. So you can assume that higher ply rating means more durable.
