Default My 1st Attempt At A 3rd Gear Boosted Launch

Well I finally did one! and all I can say is HOLEY S#&T that was COOL! I didn't do it in 4WD tho. Just 2WD (was on my way home from work last night) I was on a side street at a stop sign and figured I gotta try it some time. So threw it in 3rd gear brought the RPM's up to about 1,700 started letting the clutch out got the boost to about 9 PSI let the clutch out and stood on the loud pedal & it took off like a bat out of hell! I was only on power level 2 with my edge. I cant Waite to go to the track and see what I can do Sorry i don't have any track or 0-60 times. I just thought I would share my first attempt with a 3rd gear boosted launch

Well I was wondering if there was a way to do a boosted launch with a manual tranny like the guys with the autos do. Sounds like it'd be awful hard on the clutch though. Is there any other way to do it?

Not really any other way to do it that I know of. It is a little hard on the clutch but that is what the DD clutches are made to do. As long as your not sitting at the line slipping it for to long you should be fine. Dont think I would atempt it with a single disk clutch tho.

Tried doing that with my stock clutch. It worked fine with just injectors. With the Adrenaline set on kill though... yeah. I need a new clutch!

LOL, I know what you mean Kaz. I used to have an old '83 F-150 with 4 in the floor. One night I decided to do a "burnout" well I thought I was doin a pretty damn good one til I looked in the mirror and saw a bunch of smoke but no spinnin tires At least there was NO alchohol involved
