I truley dont know ALL the advantages, but he claims the the goal is to gain 'consistency' in his launches and 0-60' times.....

I am completely unaware if there are other advantages, but I would have to assume there are since he has spent some major cash setting it up....

He also claims that it is easier on the drivetrain, since you are not staging the entire drivetrain under load for as long while staging at the lights...this part makes some sense...

Im not a drag racer though (yet) so this is all second hand that he has told me, not from experience...

I have to assume it would also eliminate any bottom end turbo lag as well....

do ppl have such big turbos that they cant get them spooled up at a dead stop (like when they are staged for example)? because i got a quick diesel 64 from htt and everyone claims that its supposed to be really laggy and i dont know why because i can spool mine right up to 20 psi or all the way up if i wanted to when im staged (but i dont, because i dont wanna waste my drivetrain that quick cuz i still use it everyday). so what im asking is why is everyone havin problems gettin spooled up? are the turbos that big on drag trucks? here is a 30psi launch causing me to spin out, so i had to let off and get back into it. pretty lame but its all i got.

Yes, a bigger turbo is harder to spool and has a lot more lag. Spooling off the line is certainly better at spinning it quicker but requires a lot more fuel and timing. Go drive a stock truck and then drive yours and see how big the difference is especially at 50-55 mph.

i understand they take longer to spool up, but are they running big enough turbos that they cant even get the boost up while they are sittin staged?
