Number one reason to buy a glock - It fits you, you like the feel, and you can shoot it accurately.

Number one reason not to buy a glock - It doesn't fit you, you don't like the feel, Nd you can't shoot it accurately.

There are very good guns made by lots of companies. Each one is different, get what ever you feel best with.

I personally like my glock, it fits me well and I shoot it great. I also like the feel of the M&P but I don't shoot it as well in point and shoot situations, the glock points naturally for me.
BOBBY, How you like shooting your 1911

I like it but in natural point of aim shooting I'm still better with my glock. I would not carry a 1911 though, to heavy and lower round count.

Guy shoots himself in the leg...with a Kimber Pro Carry 1911....

Funny how a guy shoots himself in the leg with the worlds safest pistol according to gunman..so I guess even the much vaulted 1911 is not a gun for stupid people...

Heavy...sure, some people thinks so...and you are right...that's why the full sized 1911 is known as a hunk of death..it's not made to be comfortable...but to kill...

As far as round count..3 8rd mags and 1 in the pipe will be more than u ever need, unless your in combat or a mall shooting by 3 or 4 terrorists...then your screwed with just a pistol...

The vast majority of shootings by citizens is something like 2.3 rounds, not even 3 rounds...but if ya feel the need to carry 46+ rounds of ammo...it's heavy...and weighs more than a 1911

Seriously, as a citizen in a CCW shooting, you are not running toward the gunfire, but to break contact and disengage alive while protecting loved ones and yourself...

Safety is relative. All guns are inherently dangerous. Can their individual design's danger level be measured? You bet. People are stupid. Something about Darwin or survival of the fittest comes to mind.

Problem is, innocent people can get hurt when firearms come into play.

How's you're appetite for risk taking? Think you are smart enough to handle it? More power to ya!

Didn't we determine that guy with the .45cal hole in his leg to be abnormally stupid last year? I think he could have shot himself with just about anything.

i don't know about ou guys but i was tought not to have a round in the chamber if your side arm is holstered. if you do not use all the rounds when you are shooting, then remove mag, eject the round that is still in the chamber and then holster it. same goes with a rifle. do you walk around with a round in the chamber? i know i don't. if these people that shoot them selves in the leg took a saftey class, then alot of these injuries could be prevented.

If you carrying for self defensse if you dont have a round chamberd then that time it take to chamber a round can mean your a dead man. Best thing to do is practice and practice and practice by dryfirng. Make sure you have the muscle memory to draw a pistol with out discharging it somwhere other than torwards your intended target you leg, and genitals should not be you intended target. I much preffer revolvers, or thumbsaftey firearms for that purpose. In his case I think he should have done a couple more practice runs before he tried to shoot his target that he coulve punched.

put it this way most times when you have to draw and use your firearm it is with in less that 20ft if a man is charging you with a knife by the time you think i am going to die and need to use deadly force, grab, draw, aim, shoot he may have that blade 2in in your chest

if you have to add in there chamber a round your screwed

i carry 24/7 365 shot lots of rounds never had an accident (thank god)
and i have never carried without one in the pipe like said above at the point that i needed it i would have to use it as a club because i could not get one in the chamber fast enough to use at as a gun

Whoever taught you to carry with a empty chamber hated you and wants to see you dead..

Carrying a pistol with a empty chamber is like going into a 1% biker bar and kissing the biggest dirtiest, nastiest toothless guy and then slipping him some wet tongue...........
