Default Ruger SR-9

Anyone shoot an SR-9? I'm looking at getting a 9mm just for some range time. I already have a springfield XD45, but I want something I can put a box of bullets though without my wife threatening casteration. I went to cabelas and felt up a many 9's as I could, and I probably liked the ruger SR-9 the best a far as feel. Good gun? Bad gun? It was $470 there, but my uncle sells guns out of his basement and I can get them cheaper through him. Or should I just get an XD9 so it is an easier transition to the 45?

Don't know anything about the SR9 except it feels funny to me..

Have you looked at S&W M&P 9mm pistols...they are excellent....

I think I'm going to go out to cabelas again later today to check them out again. I'll make sure to finger the m&p.

Well, I had to go with the Ruger. It just felt better to me. In the M&P's defence, cabela's only had compacts to look at here. The SR-9 should be here by thursday. $425 out the door from my uncle. I bought some FMJ's to practice with at cabela's when I was there. Let the anticipation build.

Called my uncle today. None of his suppliers have any right now. He said it could be 2 days or 2 months. Oh, well. I started this looking for something for the wife three months ago. I can wait.

I waited for 4 months for my OD Green SR-9 but it was worth the wait. I replaced my P-89 with it. I have always been a Ruger fan.
