Ever hear the phrase discretion is the better part of valor...it applies fully to open carry and no amount of calling other people names like sheeple and yelling from the tallest tree whow it's your right will change that.

Sometimes it's just plain stupid to open carry....and makes all gun owners look stupid...by the actions of a single person...

When does the "rights" of a single person take precedence over the "rights" of many? Why is it you have the "right" to walk down the street looking like a fool and the people donot have the right to feel secure...

Any time somebody feels insecure/threatened they call 911 and then the police must investigate the reason...they must respond...and then you have the tards screaming it's a "right" to walk down the street...making a scene and hurting the gun culture...instead of spending 10 min with johhny law dog & then going along his/her merry way...

When if your hogleg would have been concealed nobody would have ever known about it...

Do you really want to be carrying openly in downtown Philly when this happens...not me...I want to be carrying concealed...so I'm not a primary target & it gives me a few seconds to process the OODA loop and do what needs to be done...

However, it's not "normal" to open carry in Denver and you can plan on being detained by the police at the very best...

It is all about time and place...and walking down the 16th street mall open carrying cuz it's legal is not a wise choice...

Especially with a high cap magazine as hi cap's are illegal in Denver....

true i agree 100% i would not open carry but like u said it realy depends on the place and time

All I can say is... Yep...

Thats pretty much what I was gonna write. Minus the getting called on at the Flying J while trolling for lot lizards...

Once in a great while you see somebody openly carrying...

Some places are posted no guns..however, if it's concealed how does anybody know & if it's open carry everybody knows...if you get busted carrying concealed someplace that's posted all they can do is ask you to leave & if you refuse then it's a misdemeanor trespassing charge.

The majority of people I have seen openly carrying either look like homeless/bums/white trash kind of people, cowboys or Rambo with mace, handcuffs and a attitude waiting for the police to say something to them as it's a right to open carry....

Not to mention you see lots of cheap nylon uncle mikes kind of holster with the pistol in it...sagging from a non gun belt...

Why not if you want to open carry look like a professional, clean cut, clean clothes, dressed nice and just present a good impression due to your appearance instead of looking like a homeless bum.....

Anywhoo, I've done both open & concealed carry....and have been reported to the Sheriff for open carrying at a flying J truckstop some years ago...the SO pulled into the truckstop, saw me, I waved & he waved back and drove away....did not have a saggy holster/belt, did not look like white trash but had been out shooting all day...

Now open carrying IMO is not a smart thing to do as it gives the tactical advantage to the goblin...you become a target when you strap on that pistol...

I like concealed carry cuz it gives you options...you are then in charge of your actions and not reacting to a goblin...

When concealed you have stealth, speed and violence of action on your part if you choose to employ your weapon...it gives you time for you OODA loop to cycle..for you to get inside your opponents OODA loop...

I dont care what they think. If they win so what? If guns are outlawed, Im still going to be carrying so it doesnt make a difference.
Educate, not scare.

If you were scared of clowns I would not toss a bunch in your house to change your mind.

Please do.

You think its better to walk around scaring the people that want to outlaw guns then it is to educate them?

I dont care if it scares them or not. If they are scared of firearms that is their problem not mine. I will not change what I do just to please the sheep.

They just want to eat their grass and be left alone. They don't know, they don't want to know. Sheep dogs are annoying enough as it is, but when they run around barking and raising a ruckus then something has to be done. And in our human society the sheep FAR outnumber the sheepdogs and WILL have their way no matter how powerful the NRA is or whether the sheepdogs like it or not.

So then it becomes your problem.
