Question.....How Often Do You Shoot Your Carry Ammo???

Mine gets a pretty good rotation, most every time I go shoot my carry gun I shoot the loaded mags first, which includes my carry mags. The only time I wont shoot them is when I don't have carry ammo to replace it with.
I also shoot 200-300 rounds of what ever I feel like carrying before I trust it to be in the gun on my hip.
What do you mean by how many time do you chamber a round?

Hope it's not been in the magazines & in the gun's for 15 years...
I've got 15 year old ammo in my TRP, but back then it was cheap and purchased tons of it..
Personally I try and rotate my carry ammo every 6 months...

When you chamber a round in your carry pistol...how many times is that round removed from the chamber, put back in the mag & then chambered again.
Does it stay in the chamber of your pistol till it's shot, does it come out for cleaning & thrown in a box to shoot...
I do not keep all my pistols loaded all the time, some have loaded mags, but nothing in the chamber...when I go out of the house a round is chambered...come home & clear the weapon..
Guess I should have asked if you keep a round in your chamber always...or not & if not what do you do with it & how many times do you chamber the same round...
Clear as mud right

Perfectly... I always insert mag, rach slide to load round in the chamber, drop the mag and top it off. So I would say the top two rounds rotate out. Don't really do that to often though...

I've known people who only do that once or twice, other guys rotate the chambered rounds till every round has been chambered a time or two & then they go into the shoot pile and not the carry pile.
I've seen bullets pushed so far back into the brass case & have seen other bullets so loose they fall out of the brass dumping powder...all from being chambered to many times.

Even if you carry sealed ammo over time the oils/cleaning solvents will slowly get into the case, damaging powder, primers...and modern smokeless primers do break down over time unlike the older ones...it's due to different chemicals and how they are chemically constructed....
Older ammo and crossive ammo is inherently more stable with a longer shelf life...
