Somewhat.....but not as good as a S&W M&P or a Glock....

It started out life as a HS2000 made in Croatia & the same pistol the Croatian military uses...and early on when imported into America it cost around $200 if I remember right....then Springfield had a brainstorm, did a tweak or two...called it the Springfield XD and is selling it for quite a profit..

So you are paying how much for a pistol that cost $200 before Springfield got in on the act.....

Do you have anything good to say about anything other then what you have? You've shot down pretty much everyone on this thread with some bs..

It's all good....no emotion, just fact based data making one a better consumer....

Nothing wrong with the XD at all, played with a few of em today...they feel great...fit my hand nicely (both 9mm and 45) have a good natural point of index for me & the trigger feels better than a glock and fits my hand better than the G19.....(and I hate the plastic trigger on the M&P)

You are gonna love your XD! Did you get a fullsize or a smaller one? The first thing I'd do to it when you get a chance is get some decal grip(or something similar) for it. The factory texture isn't very aggressive and can get kinda slippery, at least in my experience.

So glad to hear that you didn't go with a hi-point!

There are grip kits for it with textured decals. Or you could make your own out of the 3m tape used on staircases for traction.

Gives it grip like a 4th gen Glock.

This is the stuff I was talking about. They also have another version that's more like sandpaper.
