Ummm last I checked this board was inside the US and most members US citizens....who's talking about what pistol the Brits carry, or the Japs, or the Aussies...wait...they can't carry pistols...and are illegal for the people of those countries to own...unless you are a elite of said country....
Course teh Makarov is such a wonderful pistol in such a man stopping caliber...
Course the CZ is a Czech pistol and imported, so when it's banned and imported parts dry up they will make a great paperweight...
Don't forget the Sodjer boys in WWI using French machine guns that sucked goat *****...Sure at one point in history America was not the firearms leader they are now...but heck if America sucks so bad at weapon design/developement/invention/production nobody in the worl still uses the old M2 50cal MG letalone the 50 cal rifle in any military service...and the Kommies never developed a 51cal MG to mimick the American made/designed 50 cal...that's still in use...after they copied it...

I'm to understand you know nothing about 1911's......but pretend to know lots on the intertwebz about them...after all you have read a magazine or 2 along with a few web forums..
If the 1911 sucks so bad then riddle me why so many guys who's lives depend on having a working 2ndary that never fails or a handgun for a primary depend on the 1911....
Shall we play a game...I'll bring my box stock TRP....

I guess if all you ever want to shoot out of your gun is FMJ then it will do fine but even think about shooting a JHP of any kind and the 1911 will have issues. if you disagree with that statement then you have never shot JHP in a 1911....

i am comparing 1 gun to another gun, not a diesel truck and a throw away car. if you have to resort to comparing a Ford to a KIA and that is all you got, then i feel sorry for you.
to make it fair, for what you paid for your truck, you could have bought 2 base model Dodge cummins trucks and done a far better job than the 6.4L you have will ever dream of and do it for a longer time. but we aren't comparing trucks, we are comparing a Glock to all the other inferior guns that you own.

Gaston Glock is a marketing genius...way back in the 80's he all but gave them away to police departments/LEO agencies...almost broke even on selling em to the bean counters who cared more about the bottom dollar than anything...
Glock contunes to ths day to have a really low pricing for LEO agencies and if you qualify for the Homeland Security discount you can get them cheap...
He knew that the American public would look at the LEO's holster...and if it was good enough for a cop it's good enough for John Q Public...
So they charge you way more for the pistol than cops/cop shops pay...
Ever wonder how little it costs to make a glock...

You mean a torture test something like this 20,078 Round TRS Report - 1911Forum just cuz it's actually being shot..and shot and shot...
Or the fact that the 1911 pistol has seen 100 years of military service....you tell me...does 100 years of military service add up to a torture test...
I did still my Colt on a picture of the X wife...and 12 hours later the pistol was sill there & had not puked...or melted...
