i know they make double stack 1911's but when referring to a 1911 i stay with the pure original 7rnd mag, single stack, 1911A1 Gov model. just like the ones issued to the WW1 soldiers. and yes i know they make some 10 rnd mags for a single stack 1911 but i'm not fond of having an inch or 2 hanging out the bottom of the grip, kind of makes concealed carry useless, about as useless as a Glock 19 using a 33rnd mag. ya it works but why have a magazine that is twice the length of the barrel? oh i forgot because the 1911 has a frame mount safety and a grip safety making it far superior to a Glock....

oh ya, why carry a 5 pound 1911 when you can get a double stack and carry one that is 6.5 pounds..... i guess when you run out of ammo you can beat the robber to death with the hunk of steel you have....

until you need more than 8 rounds and need to conceal carry.... then size and weight is an issue... then Glock's dominate.... BTW 1911's are outdated.....

Martin, did you paint the tip of the barrels safety orange so you would know what end the bullet should come out of? that way you will know to point that end away from you while you are playing with it so it won't accidentally fire since it dosen't have a frame or slide safety....

Each person will have a different prefference of firearm, personally I deffinately want a gun that will work, and both the Glock, and 1911 work, the big difference for me is that every Glock I have ever seen is ugly! But with 1911's even the plain ones look good, but if you're willing to spend a little more money, they can be just down-right elegant. And if you're only complaint's on a 1911 is the size/weight, then why not a LW commander or officers model? Or maybe one of the Para Hawg models, that are double stack, but in a 3" gun?

dollar for dollar i'll take a Glock over any 1911 any day of the week. that is my personal preference.
