Now that my sisters kids aren't running around my house anymore, I keep my 870 and my XD fully loaded with one in the chamber. My XD sits on my nightstand at night because its easier for me to get around the house with. My 870 still has the 28" hunting barrel on it, and with the way my house is setup, I come out of my room and there's the front door. Even with my adjustable stock in the shortest length, its still too long. That's why I practice with my pistol every chance I get.

PLMCRZY, have you thought about getting a concealed weapons permit and carrying a pistol? Then you'd have something on you at all times if/when you needed it.

Saigas are pretty neat but the only thing I can see having a problem with in a HD situation is the size of those mags, they're huge. I know that if I didn't run around my house and train with, I'd be catching it on all kinda of stuff. Yes, I realize that the 12ga shotshell if a big round but I think you'd be better off with a tube fed gun with a tube extension. Depending on the gun and extension size, 7-9 rounds of 00 buck should be plenty. Just my .02

But if you're all for capacity and a short overall length for a HD gun, you can't beat the 7+7+1 round count of the new Kel-Tec KSG.
I wouldn't buy a KEL-TEC, I've had plenty of problems with them

Not trying to be rude or anything but, I think we're well aware of this fact.

While a great gun it has some issues I don't like.

The first being its slow rate of fire, the S12 has a much faster rate of fire in auto. I can fire my S12 in semi as fast as a AA 12 fires in full auto.

Saiga 12 Semi-Auto

vs

Saiga 12 Full Auto
vs

AA12 Full Auto

The auto saiga dumped 20 rnds in ~2 seconds, the AA12 in ~4-5 seconds.

The second being that it fires from an open bolt. That can be a issue with mud, water, dirt, ect.

Finally, its got ALOT of parts.... ALOT....

I would still buy one if we were allowed to have them...

Getting harder and harder to find. The ATF has a temp importation ban on them. Alot of people have jacked the price way up... You can try...

gunbroker.com
here is teh exact gun I bought.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=229434988

or

http://www.tac47industries.com/produ...roduct_id=2343

or

Rifles & Shotguns from...

or some sites have them, you have to convert it your self if you want the pistol grips and what not, easy as hell.

If you could afford it, they make small 870 shotguns now, 12 in barrels with pistol grips, must pay a federal tax stamp and pass a class 3 weapons check but itd be worth it

I do not have my concealed license, i dont know if i should really have one anyways. I carry a knife at all times. But they dont do good in a gun fight haha.

$900 for a saiga! Thats alot! I think i will start out with something cheaper.

Mossberg 500 cruiser NIB : Pump at GunBroker.com

This is in my price range and i could mod it to how i like it, correct?
