Conceal carry - Sig Sauer
I also picked up a sig P6 several months ago. These are German police trade ins and were mostly made in the 80's. Its a West German sig so its quality is amazing compared to some of the current American production sigs (think jam-o-matic 226s and 229s .. not all but some). Anyway its a single stack 9mm so it has a really thin profile like the 1911. 8+1 capacity .. but it is only 9mm if that matters to you. You can pick them up for under $400
pic for reference (not my pistol but identical)

Man I love the looks of the 1911's
For what it's worth in leaning to an xd in a 45acp. Mine will be the 5 inch tactical version. Lasermax has a sight that goes right below the barrel for that gun and you still have a free rail. Mine will primarily be for when I'm out hunting. Nice to have a sidearm for when something jump out at you unexpectedly it's kinda hard to shoot at somthing wit a rifle at 20 feet
. I've shot xds and I love them. They just feel good to MY hands.

Well I never did get my gun for X-mas so now I am back on the hunt and have some more questions I WILL be buying next weekend NO EXCUSES
I have went back to carrying full time 24/7 with my SA 1911 .45 in the shoulder with 2 spares and now its getting hot out and I want to go back to wearing T-shirts and I cant where one with that big ole sucker on
so I went back and re read this and have some questions
where do you put it and how dose it ride?
what holster and do you carry mags?
That cobra belt is almost 2in wide how are you using it? like the "old" gun belts or buying new pants with the wide loops?
well due to avalibilty the 357sig is out too hard to get rounds for
so its a coin toss either will do the job
well I want to go back to "summer" cloths and have heald and shot the 239 and that little dinky bastard is useless IMO but for carrying 24/7 I think that may be a good choice even tho it dose not fit well in the event that I have to draw it wont matter what I am holding or what size or what cal someone will die
I really want the 229 that thing fit really well and shot NICE but it is a little big IMO to try to conceal 24/7
I am leaning towards the .40 cal they seem to shoot better "for me" than the 9mm
whats the best in holsters? I have heard alot about crossbreed supertucks and the one ramprat mentioned I would like to carry strong side hip on the inside if I can and get something that looks about like a leatherman case to carry one mag how do you guys like the draw on the 239? easy to come out? easy to get in? dose it catch at all? how do you feel about living your life to the fullest extent with a 239 on your person and being cocked locked and ready to run do you feel safe from accidental discharge due to something catching or rubbing ect ect?
also is a open ended holster have this issue? I have a soft one that dose how the pre forms?

one of you guys that carrys a 239 can you take a pic of you carrying and let me see how they hide?

Gun Belts by The Belt Man makes superb leather belts are a really reasonable price.
Tactical Gear, Tactical Equipment, Duty Belts, Slings, USA 5 stitch belts are good, not top of the line, but dang good belts.
I've got one of these belts on order.... Cobra Shooters Belt 1.75" (CSB-175) it's among the best of the best you will ever get for a gunbelt....

I carry a P229 in .40 on duty and have a 226 at home and they are both great but the 229 is shorter and better for Conceal Carry, both are DAK so nothing to really get cought on when pulling out. My hands are too big for the 239 but ive heard a from a few people that its easy to conseal because of the size.

The riggers belt is 1.75 and fits in the belt loops of Wranglers & the other pants I wear (except dress pants)
I carry my Sig P239 in a Comp-Tac CTAC and love it and the 239 is a superb IWB daily carry & depending on the shooter is a extremly accurate pistol.
Cheap holsters are dangerous and just plain stupid, you should never stick a $600 pistol in a $10 el cheapo holster. I've never understood the idea about putting your pistol in the cheapest holster you could find instead of actually spending $80 or more on a quality holster.
Oh and you might want to learn what "cocked and locked" is as you don't carry the P239 "cocked and locked"
