Got the wife a new handgun, PK380
So do to work I will be out of town Monday night through Thursday night every week. We got talking and decided that it would be best to get her a handgun for the house since mine will be coming with me. After shooting with friends and trying out a bunch of different combos we settled on the PK380. She loves it, Hell I love it. Fits REAL well in her hands, recoil is good, not my ideal cal of choice but her being a lefty the ambidextrous nature of the gun out weighed the little we gave up, no point in having the biggest baddest round on the block if she wont shoot it. Now I just need to order a SuperTuck for her. Also looking at the Walther laser that mounts on it, very clean looking. Wondering if I should get it for her seeing as how its gonna 95% of the time be a home defense gun.
Here is a link to the laser and a pic of the laser

Go ahead and get it.
While the .380 is a bit small, accuracy is most important, and familiarty with the gun is next. If she won't enjoy shooting it, she won't get familiar or good with it, and it might as well be a rock.
I say good buy, and congratulations on having a wife willing to defend herself.

My wife had a situation were two (DARK) guys tried to rob her as she was leaving the house to get into her car She saw one of the running toward her, so she jump into her car & hit the door lock. The other guy blocked her car with a little pick-up truck she was really scared, but she doesn't want a gun Why couldn't those guys try that with me first guy would suffer from PLUMBISM, second guy would have his little pick-up crushed by a BIG F-250

Those Walthers are cool little pistols. My brother has been eye-balling one for a while now but won't take the plunge, mostly because .380 ammo is still pretty expensive and hard to come by here.
I carry a .380 during the summer months, and while it ain't no .45, with good modern personnel defense ammo, it's more than adequate to save yer bacon. I keep mine stoked with 90 grain Speer Gold Dots. If you can get 'em, check 'em out. Anyone on the receiving end of those "flying ash cans" is going to be in for a REAL bad day. Cor-Bon also offers an excellent personal defense load for the .380.
This is just my opinion but, I'm just not too impressed with the thought of a laser on a home protection gun. Yeah, the little red (or green) dot dancing on a feller's chest can make him think twice about why he's there, but it also points back to EXACTLY where the person holding the gun is and gives the bad guy something to aim at if he decides to shoot back.
Maybe consider one of those retina-burning ultra-bright weapon lights like a SureFire. Bad guy can't go on the offensive when he's blinded like a deer in your headlights and it gives the home owner that extra second to positively identify the person as a threat (or not) and take the appropriate action. It won't fit in a holster for concealed carry with the light, but she can still hide it an a purse, or just take the light off if she wishes to carry.
