hog huntin tips

Default hog huntin tips

all right yall ive got a hog problem at my place and my buddies place in centerville texas. weve night hunted with spotlights, weve trapped, we sour corn. we hunt stands. we post up in fields we use night sights. ive done everything that i can but we still have a problem. i make trips up there every 3 to 4 weeks or so and take about 7 to 15 every time (least ive taken is 2 most is 27) but they are still kilin the hay fields.

so to any of yall hunter out there any tips tricks or anything about how to hunt these things better would be awesome

Buy some hounds!
but seriously once they have moved into a spot in big numbers your not getting rid of them. best you can do is thin out the heard. Those damn pigs reproduce every four months-ish and they don't have small liters. You better just start dedicating more time to shootin them!

i run dogs every 2 months and normaly pull about 15 off in a day ontop of catchin 10 or so out with trappin

Trap'em, but like said above, once they've moved in; there's not much you can do but control them.

Man, if I could afford to, I would definately come down for a few days, and try to get as many as I could, and I'm sure I could find a few people who would love to go with me

buy a cheap shot gun, saw the barrel off, get a jeep, and some beer.... u cant get rid of hogs, but u can have fun trying. or thats my experience on the whole hog deal.

they are all over our place too once they move in at first you will see a couple of spots they have rooted then a year or two later you have a population of them. At first on our place they came and went with dry spells when the creek went dry they left ,but now they are there nearly every night or day you can only kill so many and as mentioned before its hard to keep up with something that breeds that fast
