So why is it tanks shoot sub caliber sabots to kill other tanks instead of shooting a projectile the same size as the barrel...

The 45ACP is a great caliber, no question...but bullet selection and placement are a major part of that...the 45ACP was designed with a 5" barrel and the 230gr bullet...if/when you shorten the barrel and change that bullet the caliber can suffer in performance...and it's still got the trajectory of a rainbow....

Even using the best bullet and superb bullet placement it's still a handgun & not going to stop a goblin right there...dead in his/her/it's tracks...and if you believe it will...then when you shoot somebody and they keep coming the shock of that could be your downfail....

I just think I remember that people said wild hogs have REAL tough skin... Never seen one up close let alone hunted one.

Agreed. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks when the IPSC lowered the limits to allow a non gun destructing 38 Super in as a Major it sort of spelled the death for the 9x23.

I do not disagree that bullet selection and placement are paramount. That is why I practice whenever and wherever I am able.Just like dad always said "practice makes perfect".

Rampart, No offense taken here. Just having a good spirited debate.Gun guys are like diesel guys, ford vs. dodge, cummins vs. PSD,and so on. So if you have any other useful info i'm interested.
