Is .380 powerful enough for defensive carry?

Plot twist, you clearly don't understand the grain level difference in different bullets can control the recoil... I wouldn't buy a gun, I couldn't handle. I wouldn't buy a gun I had no idea about, I know what I am talking about when it comes down to it. I shoot the gun, almost everyday here at the farm. I have no issues with putting someone down who is trying to come on my land an engage it activities they shouldn't bother trying. Warning shot first, an if that don't scare them off, it's straight to the chest.

The recoil was bad, but i was able to control the gun, it isn't a fun gun to shoot I kept the two S&W 629 44 mag & the GRIZZLY 45 win mag. At least with the 44 MAG i can shoot the mild 44 SPECIAL & I can find 44 MAG ammo anywhere

Yeah, same with my .357 I have a selection of hollow points, an slugs. I have been looking into buying a S&W Judge my grandfather has one, an it's pretty wicked. We all love to collect guns here. Family comes down, to shoot an ride quads at the farm every year we have a family re-union. Lots of fun!
