Default Heizer Double Tap

Coming in at 12-14 ounces this pocket pistol comes in two different models. This is a Double Action, Two Shot, Fixed Front Sight Ultra Light, Polymer Grip, 3" barrel Self Defense Weapon. It comes in Two Calibers which are 9mm and 45ACP!

The aluminum model is $499-$569 which the extra cost is having the barrel Ported which the aluminum model is 12 ounces and I would go ahead and have the barrel ported if you are planning on going with the .45 ACP.

Here is the Aluminum Model

It offers two shots in the double barrel over under design and in both platforms it carry's two spare rounds in a speed loader!

There is a 6 shot speed loader available!

The second version is an all Titanium model that weighs 14 Ounces comes in at a fair price of $729-$799! Which again the extra cost is to have the Barrels Ported which would reduce the recoil and I would recommend coming out of a 14 ounce 3" barrel.

Overall I believe this would be a great self defense pocket pistol considering the weight I would go with the titanium model for the extra 2 ounces but shooting .45 ACP or even the 9mm out of the 3" ultralight pistol is sure to pack a whollop!

The best part is that all you need to do to swap calipers is buy the new barrel and install it! simple as that!!! You can put the 9mm barrel on it for the wife to go shooting and then swap it out for the .45 ACP for you to conceal carry!

There is also an accessories list with different holsters and attachments

Overall I am impressed with the design and especially the two extra shots already in a speed loader in the bottom of the grip of the gun! Look for this to e a big hit with the concealed carry world coming up soon!!!

Edit:

I didn't show but this is also ultra small on the width, it isn't wide at all just barely over the width of the bullet!

The downside is you only have two shots before you need to use the speed loader but the upside is that they did put the speed loader and the ammo inside the gun so it's easily accessed and ready! The only thing I do see that this gun needs from the factory is possibly a laser but that's even then not necessarily needed and preferential.

The reason I would want the Heizer double tap is because of the shaping, normally on sub sub compacts the handle grips and the trigger are so close to the palm of the hand but the Double Tap really stretched that out farther which gives more surface area for grip and control, especially considering you could be shooting a .45 out of that thing!

See the Double Tap Above has a much more forward trigger that would allow guys with big hands like myself to be able to shoot this while still allowing smaller hands like my wife to use as a purse gun!

For the cost, you can get a nearly as light compact with a 7 round capacity.

Neat idea, but not something I would be interested in carrying, even as a secondary.

I would go with the 9mm option, less recoil & practice ammo is cheaper, but it would be my back-up gun

The reason that I like it is because you have the power of a .45ACP in a .665" wide package and it comes in titanium and is swappable from .45 to .9mm

This is very similar to the bond arms design which has more ammo choices for swapping but they are only in single action and they do not have extra ammo already in a speed loader in the handle. But the receiver width of the bond arms .45 is 1".

Personally I do not like how the bond arms reloads and that's the nearest super sub compact that comes in .45ACP and it also accepts the .410 3" shotgun shells.

The Heizer was just designed as a pocket pistol you could put in your back pocket and it would look like a wallet. .665" width is Really really small for a .45ACP! I do see the Heizer producing the double tap barrel that accepts the .410 3" shotgun shells along with other rounds. It looks like it is going to be the replacement for the bond arms and its produced in Naples Florida!

I don't see the recoil being excessive on the Haizer because of the open breech similar to a revolver it lets off quite a bit of pressure at the rear along with the porting should make it quite controllable!

This is definitely a preferential weapon, I personally would like a little pocket pistol that was ultralight and a double action but that's me. There are plenty of great sub compacts that fit anyone's needs I just figured I would post the gun on here because its a new design and is really innovative in its size, titanium frame, and extra ammo with a speed loader in the handle!

To each their own!

Agreed... If I'm going to carry... I am not going to carry a 2 shot mini gun. I'll keep my 8+1 round 9mm

Slow down...

Its an opinion, just the same as yours. No one is trying to attack you.

As I said before... Its a neat idea, just not something I would carry with respect to saving my life.

I carry a small .38 revolver, a small 9mm or a larger .40... All are capable of more then two shots.

Kel-Tec P-11 9mm 10 Round Blue $238.00 SHIPS FREE

That right there is what I am going to pick up next.

Don't go with Kel-Tec, they are right alongside HiPoint for quality....I've known quite a few people who have had Kel-Tec and only one guy still has it...and that's after he was at the shop & had them fix it while he was there....they just do not stand up to shooting...the more rounds ya put downrange in them the more problems ya end up having....

Kahr Arms - A leader in technology and innovation is a much better pistol & one ya can trust your life to....

Or look around for the M&P 9mm Shield, they are hard to find, but excellent pistols.

Check out this article & yes I know they talk about the Kel-Tec....but please, play with one & shoot it if at all possible before purchasing it....there is a reason or 6 you do not see the hard core serious shooters carrying them.....

There is a gun for every need, right now I'm looking for ultra thin and in a big caliber 9mm+ preferably .45 even as a backup, if it comes to fist blows with anything right now I can be paralyzed so I want the .45ACP or 9mm para in ultralight, ultra thin, and as short as possible. Just as a backup to a S&W Bodyguard Auto which is the next one on my list since everything has happened.

When I am able I am going to be going most likely with a S&W bodyguard in auto in a pocket holster and later down the road when I can ill get the Heizer as a backup or see if they come out with a semi auto .45 with the .665 or even +.100" on the width at the end of the year which is very possible and would be very desirable to many people including myself.

To each there own guys I'm not attacking I'm just bringing in conversation.

The gun fits my need but I have a very rare and unusual need and I understand that most others aren't interested in it. That's understandable, before I was hurt I wouldn't care about a .665 wide .45ACP two shot pistol but now with all the medical gear I have to wear the width and especially weight is a big issue and it has to fit both for it to work.

I can't have it holstered in my jacket or under my arm since I can't twist my body, I am most comfortable with it on my belt which is right where the brace is or in my pocket which would be nice too. Its Just my need for now guys that's all. It is going to be a learning experience for me since I have never had a pocket pistol and never thought I was going to need one.

Is the S&W Bodyguard auto a pretty good pocket pistol? Because that's what I am first looking at getting. Then onto a .45ACP backup to pack a bigger punch.

Also understand I can't carry anything over 2 pounds for the next month since my surgery was so extensive. So walking carry is limited to nothing but that little Kimber pepper spray pistol.

Guys I really don't want this thread to go way off topic I was just trying to talk about the pro's and con's of the Heizer.

I am just trying to find something that for the next year I can carry comfortably and within my weight capacity because of my medical recovery issues right now.

If there is any ultralights that I can conceal in my back brace in the front is completely Velcro but it needs to be really small on the width and the length. I need somewhere in the 1/2"-3/4" range and a 3" barrel or less. The only reason I am considering the Haizer is because of the width and being a .45ACP.

I would have to make those two shots count or I am screwed which is something that I am not impressed with. But I do like the idea of it having two shots already in a speed loader in the handle. I do think this would make a great hiking pistol to defend from small animals, snakes, etc.

I am not impressed with the price either but the $500 for an aluminum 9mm or .45 isn't bad for a backup 12 Ouncer that you wouldn't even know its there until you need it!

I'm not being defensive guys I am just trying to keep it on topic. I do agree with Ramprat on the Kel-Tec's being more trouble then they are worth but also CSIPSD if that is the company you like and you haven't had any problems with them that's perfectly fine. Personally I don't like Kel-Tec but that's is my preference.

When it comes to guns we all have different wants and needs, that's why there is such a big and spread out market!
