Just my take on this subject as it's turned and twisted.....

How can one review a handgun one has never seen, felt, held, shot???

I've personally seen new sweet looking guns at Shot Show's that have never played out...looked great..but failed....and all I could say was what I saw and felt holding them & talking to a sales rep...but till they actually hit the street and are proven...or not....

I know a guy who was shot by a AK47 and is now living in a wheelchair....paralyzed from about 2 inches below the belly button.....carries a G19 every day when he leaves his house and lots of times in the house...how and where he carries it is uncomfortable to him...it does hurt...and has left physical marks...however, he refuses to be a victim...he carries a jump kit and was the only one who stopped at a accident, dragged out his wheel chair, jump bag & was doing 1st aid till Fire/EMS arrived...

Have a friend who is stuck in a turtle (both front and back hard shells) due to being blown up in Iraq, major spinal issues & surgeries.....he carries a Glock 19....says it hurts, but he refuses to compromise on his or his loved ones safety......

Know several other guys who have been jacked up in war...and they have seen the elephant and all still live with it....and they all refuse to carry a mouse gun & instead suffer some physical pain just cuz they are carrying a compact pistol instead of something smaller....

I can't carry my 1911 TRP any more due to spinal cord injury & have had to change my carry weapon around....jacked my back up in 2000 when deployed and it ended me up in the hospital for a couple days in July.....still having issues and will need to be opened up one of these days......now I carry a M&P 9c in a Raven Concealment holster, much lighter but more rounds of ammo and semi easier on the back ....physical therapy has helped the pain and range of movement, dry needling has helped some...sometimes go with a full sized M&P and am working on getting a 3rd generation G19 with some customization...to be carried in a Raven Concealment holster or VG2....and one day hope to go back to the 1911 in a RC holster as they seem the best at spreading the weight....

It's about the mindset of the warrior....how much fight is in the dog...and if one is willing to compromise safety/security...for comfort.

I like my ruger sr9c. I don't have any major disabilities besides a bad knee and foot so I don't know what you guys go through, but me personally is rather stop an assaliant with one or two shots from a bigger round than a few from a small round. Never know how many will be there could be one-two or ten. That's just me. I feel "safer" with a larger round. Bit seeing as Obama is in office probably won't matter anyway our guns will be taken

Lots of schools of thought about the size of the bullet & when your talking ball ammo it's quite true the bigger the hole the better...as long as you can put the pullet where it needs to go....the shorter the barrel and the bigger the caliber the more felt recoil you have & the slower your 2nd shot will be...if you have never shot a 2 in 38sp+P snubbie with 158gr LSWCHP they kick harder and more violently than a 4 inch 44 mag....

Anymore when talking about 9mm, 40 short and weak & 45ACP using quality self defense ammo the bad guy won't be able to tell you what he was shot with as long as you do your part. And they will all things being equal stop the goblin the same...however, humans being human are some screwed up lifeforms and ingest some wacked out compounds than turn them into living zombies....dead men/women walking and they feel no pain....

M&P family, 9mm full sized with Secret City Weaponeers IWB holster, M&P 9 compact with Raven Concealment set up for IWB and 9c with TLR3 with Raven Concealment OWB holster.

Yes. I'm pretty proficient with my ruger first pistol I owned, but have shot others. Probably not as good as you or others but I'm confident enough to so what has to be done. I really wanted the S&W m and p 9mm or 40mm but it was out ofy price range at the time I don't know why but I love that gun.

Noting wrong at all with the sr9c, they are good solid pistols built like bricks....

Mindset is the end game, not the weapon or the gear, but mindset, if you have the mindset you will go home at the end of the day...if you don't...you wont....

But always remember, mission drives the gear..........

I understand the mindset to have. I hope I never have to take another's life but if it means protecting my family I will do what's needed to go home at night. I love my ruger. I also love my new AR.

Listen guys I just made this to talk about the Heizer and its gone to all different kind of guns instead of talking about the ups and downs of a bigger caliber pistol in that small of a platform.

I didn't make a review on it I just brought it up as a subject to talk about and discuss the size, usefulness, and the safety of having a .45ACP in .665" wide in aluminum (I personally believe there will be detonation issues with heavy hand loaded ammo just guessing from the size and I will have to see the width of the sleeve to know but my .02).

No it's not that I'm going to be carrying some super ultralight two shot for the rest of my life but it would be a nice addition and it has even more uses than just myself in recovery but also I could see women taking a liking to the Heizer as a purse gun if they make a .410 barrel kit. But right now with my bone graphs its no more than 2lbs of lifting for the first month and It's better to have something than to have nothing.

If you want to talk about a spinal fusion (if that is what you will be having done) feel free to PM me and I will tell you first hand what is happening and what I went through with having an 8am to 5:30pm two lumbar discs fusion surgery and answer any questions you have about it since I am recovering from it first hand and you would understand the need for the ultralight super small pistol in a heavy caliber.

If anything maybe in three to four months from now I might be able to carry a Poly frame Rock River 1911 in drop leg or in thunder wear since it puts the weight on my legs instead of my back.

But can we please try to keep it on topic on the Heizer.

I really did make this thread in no way as a review but to introduce a new firearm that has just came out on the market that has an application with someone that needs an ultralight like myself.
