Cimarron 1911

Cimarron 1911
I've been wanting to get my first pistol. Been thinking of either a glock or a s&w m&p. but after checking out the Cimarron arms 1911, I believe I am gonna go with it.
I know a .45 isn't ideal first gun, what I'm thinking, a 1911 is my favorite pistol. It would be better to get the type of gun I want first, and put tons of rounds through it.
After reading all I can find on this gun, it seems to be super reliable. And pretty cheap. It's $399 on cabalas.
Have y'all heard Any about it

Have a 1866 Yellowboy with the “Cimarron Original Finish” they are made in Italy, but the 1911 if you look close are made by Armscor in the PI.....
They do NOT stand behind the warranty & it's a piecemeal warranty at best...we had problems with the Yellowboy & had to ship it back, paying for shipping both ways and to have it "repaired" even though I had only shot less than 15 rds out of it at that time...
According to the website they don't even honor any warranty with the 1911's but just give you a phone number to call...
Personally, if it was my money....I'd stay away from the 1911 as they just purchase em from somebody else, mark em up and re sale em without even giving you some kind of warranty....

Here again with what little I know about firearms I'd personally go with a S&W M&P 9mm compact.....you can get full sized 9mm 17rd 9mm mags and run em in the compact...just put a little grip extender on over the mags, works great....
We have 1 full sized M&P and 2 compacts all in 9mm....you can change backstraps out to fit his hand better....recoil is milder thus faster follow up shots...9mm ammo is way cheaper to train with and carry...and if you carry 124gr Gold Dots or other premium 9mm self defense ammo the bad guy won't be able to tell if he's shot by a 9mm or a 40..
Here's some crappy pictures of a 9mm compact in a Raven Concealment holster set up for IWB with a 1.75 inch belt...RC holsters are the best Kydex holsters on the market...
Full sized M&P in a Secret City Weaponeers holster (do NOT recommend them at this time due to production problems) The holster is super comfortable IWB and I've worn it for 14+ hour days and never had any problems at all.

The full sized M&P in the Secret City Weaponers is my companion today...100 miles on the road, few hours of walking in the big city and another 100+ miles on the way home...
