I've got an regular 30/30 lever action that I will never add anything to but I wouldn't be making a tactical lever action for looks but just for one single function.

LOL!!! Yeah I reckon that would do it!

The biggest thing for me is a heavy hitting rifle round. I know there are a lot of people that say a 12 gauge with a 3" slug will do it but I am going for penetration and heavy density. A 12GA may very well kill a lion but at ~75 yards from point of hopping the fence to my possible location I won't have a lot of time to stop 600+ lbs of beast.

Then again everyone says I'm paranoid and crazy but they don't live next to it and hear it every night.

I want it to penetrate to but not to where it pases thru! I want that bullet to explode and tear the hell out of a lion. But if I ever do that I want to do cape buffalo and hiena, something with a challenge... My dads family thinks Im paranoid, im not though Ive got guns so why be paranoid...

Same reason my Lee book specifically calls out Glock and states not to soot reloads through them.

^What he said, although I wouldn't mind a Marlin 44 mag lever action in stainless for carrying on the quad.

Harder to strip from your hand in close quarters.

The idea is nice but I don't think it would work too amazingly.

It just seems like my off hand would be too far forward to be effective for use.
