Gun post
Do you need to read the rules?
Cheap parts? Magpul stock, tac grips, Magpul sights, redi mag, Eo tech hybrid combo, Surefire lights? How's that cheap? The trigger kit is $190
The LEO internals are legal to own as a civilian if they are semi auto and not 3rd burst or auto. Look at RR's website, they sell the semi auto LE model. LEO sells their service weapons to the officers all the time and they are floating around but they are extremely hard to find.

Ummmmm what "rules" or is that something you made up...as long as I do not break the rules of the site it's all good.
Yes Magpul is quality...EoTech is not all that good, lots of failures with them due to design & so they changed design...and while they are good optics they are not in the Aimpoint category. My EoTech had battery falures due to design flaws & sold it only to be replaced with a Aimpoint Micro a way better sight than the EoTech....
Surefire are great, but when ya hang lots of crap off a AR ya start to look like a tool...and a 3 dot laser system...well, that's right up there as pure silly.....What's a "tac grip" and the fore end grip that has a bipod inside/turns into a bipod is a gimmick & not quality or something ya will find on a operators weapon.
No such thing as "LEO internals" except when a company names em that....you can either get class III parts legally or not....but you can use a full auto M16 BCG in a AR15...as long as you are not in possession of the full auto (or 3rd burst) sear....You can purchase a high quality AR15 lower parts kit and then put in a Geissele trigger that is better than any "LEO internals" on the market.
The best thing to do when building your 1st AR15 is follow the KISS principle, and then expand from there, learn what works for you & learn your weapon & how to shoot it. Invest in ammo instead of gimmicks to "help you shoot better" and instead learn how to shoot without having to have such things hanging off your AR.
If you want some ideas, tips pointers and such start a thread on what you want in a AR15 & I'm sure ya will get some good advice.
Remember the thing about weapon systems is this one simple quote.
Mission dictates the gear...that you build for what mission (role) you see the AR playing...not building it and then spending more and more money fine tuning things learning as you go by wasting lots of money...if you end up with 2 or 3 AR's that's all good as each could have a different mission....and thus equipped differently.

Rock River at one time was superb quality, but they are now a middle of the pack quality product...not on par with LMT, Daniel Defense, LaRue, Noveske or any of the other top of the line AR15 makers....

If we are gonna debate over parts lets do it in a friendly way please, He wants this to be a fun post to laugh, and drool over guns. Ok, if you cant play nice then please just take it somewhere else. I agree with the rule NO DRAMA!! i dont want it, I have enough of it here at home, dont need it on the DB website... thanks!! lets continue the FUN!

Not producing any drama fro my end...just being nice and friendly and pointing out some flaws in his logic...but then again not everybody can accept constructive criticism...
If somebody was talking about building a diesel truck with parts that were cheap, inferior and possibly dangerous would you not want to pass on knowledge you have, or would you let them build a potently dangerous diesel truck....
Just saying.....

Hate to break the news to you......but it does not matter "what he wants" as long as the site rules are not broken.....and we both know he will run to a moderator at the 1st appearance of breaking any site rule...

I see where ya commin from... and I understand, and agree, but lets just send out our two cents and then save the the debate for another thread. Maybe he should create a thread about shooting techniques and have it be where people put in what they know, and have done and then we can have the experts, or experinced people come in and give us techniqes...

I'm sick or ramprat following me around just to start arguments. Yeah I made the rule for this thread for no drama. No the No drama rule isn't for the website but if he read the rules it says NO provocation which he clearly can't follow since he is just constantly ridiculing my threads to cause problems.
This thread is supposed to be fun for everyone and the part where i said if you don't like someone else's post then walk away needs to be followed in order for a thread like this to work. I have seen many good gun post threads that have thousands of posts be shut down because someone just wants to come in and start arguments.
Keep it clean, fun, and if you don't like something then send someone a PM an do it privately because otherwise it just ruins it for everyone else.

Ah the punt gun!
Used in the earlier 1900's the punt gun came in many sizes from 4 gauge to A gauge and can hold up to 3 pounds of lead and 3000 grains of powder. The specific implement of this monster was to kill birds by the flock and almost never being shot by the shoulder from the weight and the kick! The merchants would strap three or four punt guns to a boat and get full stock of duck or any useable waterfowl for sale the next day.
