So, this morning at 7am, i backed my truck out into 0*F temperatures, and let it sit there all day until 8 or 9pm tonight. Todays high temp. was not above 5*F and to top it off it decided to snow on us. So, i made a video clip for everyone. This is of my truck starting after sitting outside all day where it would normally sit in a 60*F heated garage right in front of it. Enjoy!

Way Cool Vids man !! , Glad to hear your truck starting like that I spent some major jack on optima batteries and my truck still cranks like that when really cold out

well, those are original 2001 batteries, and one of the 2 is messed up as i tried pulling one out this summer and pulled a post out, so thats actually starting on only one battery as the other one lost all its water due to pulling a post out partially

It started good for only one battery. I like the way it sounds in 3 cyl. mode it sounds like it getting ready to cumapart. Will it kick back into 3 cyl. mode after it has warmed up if the engine temps drops way down the Dmax will jump back into High Idle if the temps drops?

 

yeah, if its that cold out and you let it idle for extended periods of time, and the ambient temp. is that cold, ive seen mine kick back into high idle, but never back into 3 cyl. high idle (yet anyway)
