automotive paint for engine components?
aluminum made by "SEM" lasts very well. Use "transtar high building primer" lt grey first the the aluminum second,I first used it years ago on the alminum fan shrouds on my Rotax Ski-doo engines still looks great after 6 years, doesn't rub off. I'm going to use it to paint the compressor side of the turbo, the oil filter mount, intake plenum cover,I have the head off right now so I'm going to take the extra time to detail the heck out of the engine while I have the room
Im using the 500* paint on my valvecovers, intake manifold and a couple of other parts. I figure it should hold up, but if you were going to paint any exhaust parts you would have to use the 2000* VHT paint.
Im planning on eventually getting everything powdercoated, but this looks good for now. Using some glossy blue paint and putting a clear coat on it as well

I have seen polished valve covers before, they look sick.
