I read some posts a while back when I got my 6.0 stroker. The general sensous was that a SCT programmer was the way to go, so I bought a sct programmer. I don't know what the X-Cal 3 is that the other posts recomended, but I got the SF3 Power Programmer. I am not very happy with the fuel mileage, when I am babying it I can't seem to get much better than 13-14mpg on my little 22 mile commute to work. My wife took it to the air port to pick up her mom and got maybe 16-17mpg. I have it on a street program... I only saw performance, street and some tow tunes.
How do I get the custom tunes... it says I can store up to three... I like the idea of the extreme tune getting better fuel mileage... that is why I got it... I'll tell you what it sure pushes out some mean ponies.
I have an air raid cold air intake, 4in straight up to the 8in stack 35in Dick cepek, 20in rockstar rims. Flow through fifth wheel tailgate, 2003, 4x4 crew cab short bed 3500. The erg is unplugged, I get a little coolant smell sometimes and most of the time I can tell there is a lot of pressure in the reservoir. Oh and it is missing the little sensor in the air box. Had a mechanic tell me I didn't need it.. but he was the same guy that couldn't figure out how to install my power steering pump in a way that it wouldn't puke out all the oil by the time I drove the 30 miles or so home.
You guy seem to know your stuff so any help would be appreciated!!
