Default New Truck!!!!

Well it has been I while since I had a nice truck, but I did it. I have been shopping and dreaming of cummin's swaps or a new truck for quite sometime now, I had looked online and at the various dealerships but with no real luck. When the economy fell unfortunately so did my credit. I figured that I would be able to get a diesel, but I was really worried about getting one so old, or with so many miles not knowing much about the truck besides what the person says.

Long story short, my wife wouldn't stand for another project that never gets finished. After driving a 2004 Powerstroke that was out of our price range by almost double, our hopes and dreams were kind of crushed.

Well on a whim, I went to a local junk yard to see if I could find an old turbo off a 6.5 to put on my 6.2 suburban, looked for something to fix up my 89 GMC 2500 truck,... ie nicer seats, power window motors and switched etc... My wife was at work, and having no luch at the junk yard, I though, I'll take the kids and look at trucks, that should be fun until my wife gets back.

Drove a few trucks, prices were definitely a little closer to my price range, but could I get financing? Well we finally drove one that had everything I wanted except the cummins motor. It was nice, fast, solid, and roomy... what more could I expect for $16,999. So I told the sales man I would take it if I could get financed.

Less than a half hour later I was signing papers on a 2003 Ford Powerstroke 3500 short bed crew cab with 127,000 miles on it. They said they had just got it in on trade, and hadn't got to cleaning it or anything, but who ever had it before took amazing care of it. Lariat package, killer sound system, 35s, gages, looks and sounds so nice. I can't tell all that has been done to it but it looks to have a different turbo set up and cold air intake. There's a 6in stack in the back, but they said they would run a nice exhaust out the back and fix the hole in the bed. It has a hide a ball hitch in it but doesn't look like it has ever been used. Even though it isn't my beloved dodge, for the price, I don't think I could have found a dodge that would even compare to this!!!!!!

She was excited but quiet. She was a little sad that I went with out her, now she is happy because I got it for her basically. It it would have been up to me I would have got 2001 Dodge quadcab short bed. She has better grasp of the future..... we have some pretty big kids.... in just a few years there's no way all 6 of would be comfortable in a 2nd gen dodge..

I think my wife wants the stack and the wheels. I was planning on getting rid of both of them today. The dealer said they would replace the wheels with some different ones and run the exhaust the right way. My dilemma is that most everyone likes it the way it is. I think the rims are to big and don't really like the Dick Cepek, I don't know, maybe it is just the way the one ton rides, but I don't really like the ride. It has a SCT emblem on the side, the speedometer is off... I hope they can tell me more about the truck, and I will let everyone know more after I get it back.

If you do fix the exhaust back factory, would you be interested in selling the stack? If so how much?
