Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
So, couple videos of tuning the VGT on the truck. Fuel is yet untouched from where I got the truck, with the exception of the fuel pin. As far as I know it's still the stock gov spring, and yes... my tach is not working, for whatever reason,
.
As you can see, second and 5th gear the VGT chokes down for some reason. I think second gear is just too short of a gear with too little of a load, which is no big deal, since third and 4th are where I really need the power, but the EGTs sky rocket in 5th, so I need to remedy that, still. Only running 40 lbs of boost at the time being, but hoping for my along the lines of 55psi, I am not sure how reasonable that will be.
Still messing with the VGT, fueling and a bunch of other things, still need to put the 3800 spring and valve springs in, still need to turn up the fuel, need to redesign the VGT actuator a little bit... but so far so good, I would say. Truck feels real strong!

Being real sentimental today about both of the vehicles I own...
I bought Rusty in horrible condition in February of 2010 and I started working on her in early March, 2010. It's been one hell of a ride, so much stress, so many small victories, and so much publicity. This truck seriously means the world to me, and not many people understand WHY I want this truck to turn out the way I want it to. Most people don't understand why I don't just drive her. I have been content taking breaks working on her when I either don't have time to, or don't have the finances. Unfortunately, this is another one of those breaks. This thing has been through thick and thin with me over the last 3 years and I owe my sanity (and portions of my insanity) to her. This has been my life's passion for the last 3 years.

My other car is named Sasha, she has made some slight appearances here, too. She's been with me 1 year and 4 months, as I bought her in February, 2012. This was brought on by the fact that I wanted something to cruise with. I never thought I could have so much fun modifying and cruising in a car that many people find undesirable. Not only that, I never thought this car would be as fast as it is. I have run 12.4@108 on a motor that I had no idea about when I bought the car. This car is sort of cobbled together and surprises so many people, and I love it almost as much as Rusty. This car is with me right now, whereas Rusty, unfortunately, is waiting for her day to be unveiled (when she is 100% done, and yes, there is a stopping point on her). Most people don't understand the stress relief that putting the top down and going for an evening cruise can provide, and THAT is why I have this car. This car will be the ongoing project that I will continue once Rusty is done.

It's safe to say that cars are my life. They're seriously the cause of so much stress, but I think it's all healthy stress. I can get pissed at the car/truck and just walk away for a little while... or a month. I am not sure how many people truly understand this. So, how do you guys feel? Similar or you think im kooky?

WOW!!!! Best before /after pics I've seen in a long long time!! What a transformation in rusty. Those wheels really "class up" the Stang too.
Kooky? Not at all. I'm right there with ya. It's only money & time. So rare the two ever meet. Keep up the GREAT work man

Haha, thanks man! Really surprising to see the before and after picture!
Thanks! I have hit another obstacle... I didn't pass my nursing boards, so I have 2-3 months of working my butt off just to barely slide by, so the truck is pretty much on hold unless I can get a day off, but I can't hardly afford that.
Took her out for a spin today and thinking I have a bit of an issue with the turbo system... first, I think I have a slight boost leak, but I think I have it pinpointed. Second, I have an exhaust leak, and just need to find/make a gasket. Third, I hit 50psi today and it blew the intercooler tube off, haha. And finally, the bolt that keeps the VGT from self adjusting keeps working loose. All very minor issues, but I am relieved that every time I work on it I keep making a little more boost. She feels pretty mean, but is BEGGING for more fuel and more RPM... and more torque on the head studs...
