Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
How about some supplies to make some suspension stops? The stock ones on the frame are all rotted out so I am going to make some pulling style adjustable ones. Here we have some 7/8" threaded high carbon steel. Should get the job done. Now I just have to figure out how I want to execute this... weld a plate on the inside of the frame and beef the frame up, and run the rod through both the top and bottom of the frame, or just run them through the bottom part of the frame?

Well, before I even got home from the body shop I had a picture of the bed, off the truck getting ready for my body guy to sand it! He said he will have it done next week, compared to the 8 months it took the other shop to do the cab, I am excited!

From here we are going to cut the wood for the bed, finish up the few things we need to do to that, modify the fuel filler to work, button up the interior, then I will have her on the road! I still have to get some interior parts and a hood latch, but I should be able to drive it soon enough! Excited is an understatement!!

Well, I've got a few goodies on the way, still...
Decided instead of re-doing the rear drums, I will just do a disc brake swap. Bought the brackets today and will be looking into calipers. Brackets came from Great Lakes Off-road, I imagine they should be here early next week. The calipers will be rear calipers from a 78 Eldorado, this will allow me to retain the rear emergency brake. This will also help since the rear ABS module is toast... I was debating keeping the drums and fixing the ABS, or just converting to disc, this actually seems like the cheaper option at the moment.
I will be ordering a stick of Chromoly to begin my radiator support fabrication, too. Remember, I need to move the radiator back to fit the intercooler and A/C behind the grille. I also want to see if I can fit a bigger IC back there, eventually as well (possibly a 4" core).

Went and picked the truck up from the paint shop and I have to say... this paint job is PHENOMENAL! The clear turned out so smooth that I can literally see myself:

I also got the lights installed:

This leads me to the next issue... the first paint shop had some adherence issues with the paint and the paint in the door jams and along the drip rail is peeling off. This is not the only issue; I bondo'd the lead line (the seam) along the top of the cab to smooth it out. This bondo has shrunk and is beginning to crack out. This leaves me with a dilemma:
- Do I take the truck back to the original paint shop so they can fix my mistake, or do I negotiate with them to refund some of the money so that I can take it to the second paint shop (that did the bed)?
- Do I just let the bondo crack out and fix it when summer rolls around?
- What material do I fix the roof seam with?
- The original paint shop did not match the hood color to the body color, so should I have that redone too?
All of this, coupled with the repair that needs to be done to the door from the incident with the truck rolling out of the garage, will result in nearly the entire cab being repainted since these colors are so difficult to blend. This is an expensive problem and how I go about this process will dictate how much I have to spend out of pocket and how long the paint will last on the truck (apparently).

Just a thought
