Project Rusty Revival (56k no way!)
im almost in the same boat as you. except your way way way past my progress i havent even picked the truck up yet but im rebuilding motor and beefing it up its p pump 24 valve then repainting motor and turbos and frame where it sits and the whole truck inside jams and all then lift kit! the way im in your shoes is it will probably be another month before i start to work on it and i sign papers tuesday for army! i was gonna go navy but army actually seems more beneficial in alot of ways going to be a diesel mechanic and get my cdl's. i can do body work and paint better then i can do a motor but i cannt afford a shop to build it and i wont have one of my friends do it ill be nervous ha ha. so hopefully after boot camp ill have all the money i need to tear motor down have all machine work done to block head and crankshaft not cam shaft becuase im going stage 3. but anyways before i hijack thread dont feel bad im rite there with you. i cant wait to see your truck or start on mine!
Nope not at all with me working 8 to 5 all summer and being on 24-7 call outs not had time start class in 3 weeks got 15 hours most are computer programing.... so I just want to get my HID's done and a raptor installed and (tranny, boost, pyro) put in

Hey brother, keep your head up and that wrench turnin. Just read the entire thread today and man you got some *****. Badass build, especially since it's all you. Can't wait to see her run, keep it comin!
All the compliments lately are just flattering! Thank you all for the compliments and encouragement. I really wish I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but like any true project, it will never truly be done. I honestly don't think I will have the truck back on the road until Christmas break (what an excellent Christmas gift, really).
Not only do I have the FULL interior to finish (wiring, seats, sound system, gauges, headliner), I have to build the entire flat bed, and rebuild alot of the front end (brakes, leaf springs, shocks, ball joints, etc...), I also have to finish the VGT actuator on the turbo and finish the fuel mods... and possibly (if money allows) have the valve springs put in, since I will be running a 4500rpm spring. I think for the front suspension, I may just end up putting a 2.5" lift on it... even though I swore up and down I wouldn't. Its the same cost as replacement springs, and well... I consider it more for the money, haha.
Gosh, thinking about the truck makes me miss it more. I will be paying the body shop a visit tomorrow, most likely, and will hopefully have some good news (not holding my breath though).

I just want her back! I haven't been able to check on the truck yet, since the body shop is an hour away and school is keeping me pretty busy. I should be back there Friday and should get a peek on her. Really hoping to have her back by the end of Sept (considering she was supposed to be done the end of June), then I can slowly compile parts for it, and get it all finished over Xmas break.
