To get at some of the bolts on the heads, you have to take the rockers off. My bud didn't adjust them, he was just helping but the guy that did the wrenching was a mechanic, but he was flyin by the seat of his pants... IE: NOT a diesel tech by any means.

You don't need to be a diesel tech to know when take the rockers off and reinstall the valves will need adjusted. That is a costly lesson, hope he get it back up in a hurry and easy as can be on the wallet.

They knew it and readjusted them, just weren't up to specs... But yes, very very costly.

Well he found a couple "lightly" burned engines.... I dunno if that would be a good idea or not... Input since he nor I have ever delt with a burned motor?

Never had any experience with a burned engine, but I think the potential for headaches would be pretty high.

I would definately want to check the heads. Don't know if the extra heat would warp the aluminum.
